This 12 Days Kenya-Uganda-Rwanda Safari Experience takes you to three different countries for your wildlife and adventure experience. You will start off your safari with Kenya where you will enjoy wildlife in some of the most visited parks i.e Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve. In these parks you will be able to do different activities like the game drives as well as enjoy the Masai culture. Your safari will continue to Uganda and here you will have your ultimate gorilla experience, the Batwa cultural experience, water rafting, visit the source of the Nile as well as the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. You will conclude your safari with Rwanda where you will do your city tour, visit the Museum and the Dian fossey center.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi-Transfer to the Hotel
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be picked by our driver from Kanyike Tours & Travels who will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend your night.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park-Evening game drive
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park, check in your lodge and after lunch, you will head out for an evening game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley and from a distance, it appears ringed in pink. The Park has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species particularly the Rothchild giraffe, black and white rhinos, water bucks etc. Later. you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara-Masai Culture
After your morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and continue with your journey to Masai Mara Wildlife Reserve. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, check in as you prepare for a cultural experience. While here, you will get to know more about the Maasai community and interact with the local Maasai people, feel free to participate in their dances, songs and daily activities. You can also buy some souvenirs to take back home for remembrance.

Day 4: Full day game drive
Have breakfast and afterwards go for a full day game drive in Masai Mara game reserve, famously known for the annual great migration of wildebeest and zebras. While here, you will enjoy several wild animals at close encounters for great African safari memory. Enjoy the game drive till late evening, in search for the big five like the lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos and elephants, with different wildlife such as Zebras, Topis, cheetahs, reedbucks, waterbucks, etc.

Day 5: Transfer to Uganda-Jinja City
Enjoy breakfast and start off your journey to Uganda crossing Busia boarder to Jinja your next destination. You will have a few stopovers along the way for lunch and refreshments. However, it will take you some time here at the boarder for clearance and upon arrival in Jinja, you will just check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Water Rafting-Boat ride
Very early in the morning after breakfast, you will join other rafting members and the staff for a briefing. Afterwards, start off your journey to the Nile River for white water rafting. This offers the rafters the thrill as well as the excitement. Afterwards, you will head for the Nile boat ride to the actual source of the Nile. While here, you will witness the river separating itself from the Lake. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Travel to Entebbe-Transfer to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Have an early breakfast, check-out of the lodge and embark on your journey to Entebbe. In the afternoon, head to the dock where you will set off by a boat to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary taking you approx. 30mins. The Island is generally surrounded by the fresh waters of Lake Victoria was primarily established to offer shelter to the rescued and orphaned chimpanzee. While here, the care-takers will take you through the various centers on this sanctuary. Later head back to your lodge and in the evening, you can decide to relax at your lodge, walk or do a tour around town.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi-Visit the Uganda Equator (Approx. 11hrs
Early morning after breakfast, start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will have a stopover at the Equator line since Uganda is one of the few countries crossed by this line. While here, you will have different Equator experiments, photography and refreshments. Thereafter, continue to Mbarara town for lunch and later proceed to Bwindi arriving late in the evening. Check in at the lodge, relax and after dinner shall be served.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking-Batwa Cultural Experience
After your early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters in your booked sector for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while trekking. Later, hit the forest and start off the trekking guided by the rangers. Upon locating one of the gorilla family, you will spend 1 hour in their presence, taking photos, watching them feed etc. After, you will head back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded with a gorilla trekking certificate. Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch and a power nap. In the evening you will go for the Batwa cultural experience where you will get exposed to their culture & norms; dance, lifestyle, storytelling and more which is very amazing and unique. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer Rwanda
After having your morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and with your packed lunch, set off your journey to Rwanda-Kigali city crossing through Cyanika boarder since it’s the nearest to Nkuringo in Bwindi and offers a faster access. Note that, it will also take you some time here at the boarder for clearance and therefore, upon arrival in Kigali, you will just check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Visit Dian Fossey Center-Visit Kigali Memorial Genocide Site
Early morning after breakfast, you will head northwards to Volcanoes National Park where you will visit the Dian Fossey Center. Dian Fossey was a zoologist best known for researching the endangered gorillas of the Rwandan mountain forest from the 1960s to the 1980s. Tragically, on December 26, 1985, Fossey was found hacked to death, presumably by poachers. Afterwards, transfer to Gisozi genocide memorial site. While here, you picture out the terrifying memories of the 1994 survivors. The main section of the memorial also features the museum with exhibits that document the history and causes of the genocide as well as personal stories of victims and survivors.

Day 12: Travel back to the Airport
Have breakfast, then be dropped off to the Airport for your flight back home. This will mark the end of our 12 Days Kenya-Uganda-Rwanda Safari Experience, leaving you with great memories.
